Rear windows usually need replacement after a break-in, an accident, or a stress crack that started small and grew. Most rear windshields include a defroster grid baked into the glass, which has to be reconnected to the vehicle’s wiring during the install. What we do We remove the damaged glass, clean out the safety glass shards (which can be especially bad in the rear cargo area), reconnect the defroster grid, and install OEE or OEM quality replacement glass. Rear windshields with brake lights, antennas, or backup camera mounts get those reconnected too. Heated rear windows The thin grid lines you see on most rear windows are the defroster. We test the heat function after install to confirm both sides of the grid are receiving power. If a tab was damaged or the wiring was already compromised, we let you know.
