A heads-up display projects speed, navigation, and other information onto your windshield so you can read it without taking your eyes off the road. The windshield itself has a special wedge-shaped polymer layer that prevents a double image. If you replace HUD glass with standard glass, the projection will appear ghosted or blurred. Why HUD glass is different The polymer layer inside HUD windshields is angled slightly to direct the projected image to your line of sight. It’s not something you can see by looking at the glass, and standard windshields don’t have it. Replacing HUD glass with non-HUD glass is the most common cause of a ghosted heads-up display after a windshield replacement somewhere else. What we use We source OEE or OEM quality HUD windshields that match the projection layer specification for your vehicle. When you call, give us the VIN and tell us your vehicle has HUD, and we’ll order the correct glass. Call 502-709-8693 to schedule.
