Dynamic ADAS calibration is the second method for resetting the safety cameras and sensors mounted to your windshield. Unlike static calibration, which is performed in-shop with targets, dynamic calibration happens on the road. The vehicle has to be driven at specific speeds, on roads with clear lane markings, for the camera to recalibrate itself against real-world conditions. What dynamic calibration involves After your windshield replacement, one of our technicians drives the vehicle at a manufacturer-specified speed for a set distance. The car’s software is in calibration mode during the drive, and the camera adjusts itself based on the lane lines, traffic signs, and surrounding vehicles it sees. The process typically takes 30 to 60 minutes of driving, depending on the make and model. When dynamic calibration is required Some vehicles only require dynamic calibration after a windshield replacement. Others require both static and dynamic. Manufacturer requirements vary by make, model, and year, and we check the correct procedure before scheduling your work. What we provide Our technicians are ADAS certified and AGSC Dupont certified. We use OEE or OEM quality glass on every job. Calibration is included as part of the replacement when your vehicle requires it, and we file the insurance claim for you. Call 502-709-8693 to schedule.
FAQ
Can dynamic calibration be done in the rain?
No. Most manufacturers require clear weather and dry roads with visible lane markings. If conditions are poor on the day of your appointment, we may reschedule the drive portion.
How is dynamic different from static?
Static happens in our shop with the vehicle parked and targets in front of it. Dynamic happens on the road at specific speeds. Some vehicles need one, some need both.
Will my insurance cover calibration?
In almost all cases, yes. Comprehensive coverage includes calibration as part of the windshield replacement.
